Married: Ethan & Akiko – A Kobe Wedding Celebration
Date: March 27th, 2011
Location: Kitano and Cafe Fish, Kobe
After officially tying the knot at their gorgeous tropical wedding ceremony in Phuket, Thailand, Ethan and Akiko followed up with an encore performance in their hometown of Kobe. Although it was an unusually cold and windy day for the end of March, our heroes braved the elements for about thirty minutes of portrait shooting on the streets Kobe’s quaint and stylish Kitano area. Always with an eye for detail and an appreciation of both Japanese and Western culture, Akiko wore the most elegant wedding gown that for me evoked imagery of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s , while Ethan looked positively dashing sporting a very traditional Japanese hakama.
After about half an hour shooting in the chill, it was off by taxi to the wedding party at Cafe Fish, along the Bay near Kobe’s Meriken Park. The party was off the hook, and Ethan and Akiko kicked off the fun with a swing number followed by their own interpretation of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, accompanied by an entourage of good friends. It was a perfect evening, and a wonderful way to start your life together.
Congratulations, Ethan and Akiko!
